Ilko Batakliev

Global Head of Experience Design, HSBC

Ilko Batakliev heads up the Customer on-boarding and Message-led experiences design teams at HSBC WPB. He was one of the original crew who started the bank’s journey to Digital Transformation and design thinking culture and has played an instrumental role in the introduction and maturing of design frameworks and processes. Ilko grew up in post-communist Bulgaria and lived fifteen years in Amsterdam prior to his relocation to the UK. His career in digital spans over two decades, in which he has worked for iconic brands such as Philips, Shell, Virgin Media, GSK, Yamaha, TomTom, Canon and Sony Ericsson. When he’s not solving customer problems on Zoom calls, he loves capturing candid black & white street scenes with his phone.

Morgane Peng

Director of UX, Societe Generale

Morgane Peng is responsible for the design vision and strategy of Societe Generale Corporate & Investment Banking. She delivers united and meaningful experiences with her team across Societe Generale products for start-ups, corporates and financial institutions. Previously, Morgane adventured into various fields of consulting, financial markets and tech. In her spare time, she’s a gamer at heart and works on an indie video game successfully crowdfunded on Kickstarter.

Daljit Singh

Chief Design Officer, Anna

Daljit has worked with ANNA since its inception to distinguish its brand in the new world of challenger banks and admin apps by bringing a design-led approach to its business, product development and marketing. A prolific creative director and business strategist, Daljit founded Digit, a digital design agency in 1996: bought by WPP in 2005 and went on to establish Conran Singh, with Sir Terence Conran, and creative consultancy The Happiness Company. Prior to joining ANNA Daljit spent 2 years as design strategy lead EMEA at FJORD (part of Accenture interactive) He has designed global strategies for Audi, HSBC, Microsoft, and Vodafone, co-curated an exhibition at The V&A Museum, launched his own sausage brand, won a D&AD Black Pencil, 2 BAFTA’s and appeared in the FT’s “Top 50 Creative Minds” twice.

Paola Miani

Head of Design Strategy, Lloyds Bank

Paola is the Head of Design culture at Lloyds Banking group. In this role she works with Design leaders and key stakeholders to develop a Design-led culture in the organisation to help the bank to transform and adapt to constantly changing customer expectations and needs. Paola’s team also supports more than 350 Designers with a variety of Designs disciplines to grow and develop, working in collaboration with the guilds of each discipline to define the best learning approach. Paola joined the group as the Head of Design strategy to help bridge the gap between business and customer needs. Previously, she has been designing multi-channel experiences for multinational companies in different sectors since 2000, including telecommunications, government, banking and insurance, travel, and retail. She has a special passion for customer experience, creativity, innovation, and process improvement.

Samantha Davies

Senior User Research Manager, Monzo

Samantha has been specialising in user research and product strategy for over ten years. She joined the Monzo Design team three years ago as the first researcher and has since been building and scaling the practice. Her team’s insight has helped guide and prioritise product and design efforts at Monzo, as the company has grown from start-up to becoming an established bank. In her spare time, Samantha loves to scuba dive – she’s a certified PADI Divemaster and has swum with hammerhead sharks, manta rays and most recently, a dugong.

Beth Brettingham

Senior Product Designer, Monzo

Beth has been a designer for over 10 years, solving problems in digital, brand and print before finding her home in product design. She joined Monzo as a Senior Product Designer a year and a half ago and has worked across the product, rethinking the navigation, designing features for Premium and Plus and now focusing on making borrowing better for people. She loves solving problems for customers and is passionate about Monzo's mission to make money work for everyone. She lives in London with her husband and two year old daughter. She spends her spare time frequenting the playgrounds of southeast London, always with a flat white in hand.

Mariya Brown is motivated to bring the 'best in class' user experience across a variety of diverse business solutions within Treasury, Capital Markets and Investment Management at Finastra. With over 20 years of experience in fintech she brings a wealth of domain knowledge to transform our solutions by prioritising user experience in product development and management. Prior to her current role in the product management team at Finastra, she managed design and delivery of a number of electronic trading and distribution platforms at Tier 1 banks, forex brokers and technology providers, including Credit Suisse, JP Morgan, UBS, CMC Markets, FastMatch, Mycelium blockchain, and others. Mariya is passionate about solving complex business problems with the use of personas, user journeys, visual analysis and new technology.

Michelle Aaron

Design Manager, Moneybox

Michelle is a hands-on digital design leader, with 13 years of experience. Starting out her career designing multi-channel experiences for companies in a variety of sectors, through various agency roles. She discovered her passion for design in finance in her last role which focused on innovation within the financial services industry, working with both enterprise clients and FinTech start-ups. She became accustomed to being embedded within cross-functional teams and applying lean UX principles to solve problems, whilst aligning design with key business goals. She joined Moneybox a year ago as Design Manager to help grow and scale the design team as well as being responsible for the design vision. She is passionate about Moneyboxʼs mission to help everyone save and invest for their future and providing the best customer experience.

Jon Marshall

Senior UX Designer, Rebank

Jon has worked in the disruptive wings of large agencies (DigitasLBi, AKQA and Bio) as well as within early-stage startups directly (Sofar Sounds). He now splits his time evenly between research and design at rebank. Backed by Y-Combinator, rebank is a financial operating system for post-seed founders. On the research side, Jon is focussed on using qualitative feedback to find product/market fit without needing quantitative data. The rebank team have discussed business banking pain with over 200 founders so far this year! On the design side, Jon is using minimalism and unidirectional flows to make business banking more straight-forward (and enjoyable) than ever before. Jon has a dog named Maurice and a cat named Pickle. He enjoys discussing socioeconomics, going for runs outdoors, reading Neal Stephenson novels and has a slight addiction to breakfast cereal and Guinness (separately).
